Green Computing

ASUS strives to offer customers not only the top computing-performance benchmark results but also the best benchmarks for low power consumption – enabling efficient operation and optimal TCO.

Overview

Green awareness and power consumption are key topics as more data centers require better computing performance, more storage space and quicker connections. ASUS strives to offer customers not only the top computing-performance benchmark results but also the best benchmarks for low power consumption – enabling efficient operation and optimal TCO.

SPEC.org’s SPECpower_ssj2008 is the first industry-standard SPEC benchmark that evaluates the power and performance characteristics of volume-server-class computers. On this benchmark, ASUS has achieved multiple top spots for the most power-efficient Windows and Linux servers, on both Intel and AMD platforms – ensuring a comprehensive choice of solutions.

ASUS Power Balancer

ASUS Power Balancer is an exclusive technology that enables ASUS servers to adjust overall loading automatically based on real-time monitoring in order to decrease overall power consumption for improved efficiency and cost/performance optimization.

  • Dynamic monitoring
Monitors and feeds back CPU loading
    to enable more
    accurate system management.

  • Auto frequency adjustment
    Dynamically and automatically adjusts CPU
frequency based on current utilization to
    reduce power consumption.

  • Enhanced power efficiency
    Optimizes performance per watt
    for better power efficiency.

ASUS Thermal Radar 2.0

Thermal Radar 2.0 provides real-time server temperature monitoring and intelligent fan-curve adjustments for lower fan power-consumption. When the system gets hot all the fans activate to cool the temperate, potentially consuming more power than is necessary. With Thermal Radar 2.0 enabled, heat can be detected and fans activated by affected zone, targeting cooling and minimizing power use.

  • More sensors
Sensors are embedded on the front panel, CPU,
NVMe SSD, OCP Mezzanine card, PSU and memory.
Up to 56 ambient sensors on selected models.

  • Intelligent Adjustment
Fans are grouped for dynamic fan-curve
    adjustment in different fan zones
to achieve more precise thermal monitoring.

  • Eco-friendly
    More precise thermal information can
    reduce power consumption and
    reduce TCO.
